This will destroy crops on the stalk.
You've grown up and decided it's time to move off your fathers farm and start your own.
You have found the perfect piece of property to purchase, it come with a single acre, and a small woodland plot at the edge of the property. The barn needs work and the sawmill is in disrepair, but you have plenty of time to work on it. Best of all, it is surrounded by state land you can purchase as needed!
Before you can build anything worth having, you'll need lumber. Head out to that woodland plot and chop your first tree. It won't take long — five good swings and you'll have a piece you can work with. Turn it into lumber which you can use towards other buildings, or sell it in town to increase your bank account.
From there, the farm grows on your terms. Plant a crop. Sell what you don't need. Hire help when the work gets ahead of you. Your father built his farm the same way — one decision at a time.
💡 Tip: You have a scrap pile out back you can use to store lumber — it'll hold 25 pieces. Once you build a Lumber Yard, you'll have proper storage and room to grow.
That was hard work — but you've got your first piece of timber!
Now you need to turn that raw timber into usable lumber. You could do it by hand, but between the barn and the woodland plot stands an old rusty sawmill your father used to run.
It'll take some elbow grease to get it going again, but once it's running you'll be able to process timber into lumber quickly.
💡 Head over to Buildings → Production → Logging to start the repairs!
The sawmill needs parts and labour to get running again. It will cost $15.00 to start the repairs. You'll need to keep clicking the Repair button until the job is done.
Ready to get started?
The old sawmill looks great! The saw has been sharpened, the rollers greased and the roof patched up. Great work!
Your sawmill is ready to use. Head over to the Logging → Sawmill tab — the timber you cut is waiting there to be processed into lumber.
You can store up to 25 pieces of lumber in the scrap heap next to the sawmill until you can afford to build a proper Lumber Yard.
